Mrs. Jenna MacAlpin
My name is Jenna MacAlpin, better known as Mrs. Mac! I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Mount Olive. I also have my license in the state of North Carolina to teach Birth through Kindergarten. My husband and I moved here from Long Island, New York, in 2012. Together, we have two children, one entering First Grade and one entering Second Grade. I enjoy incorporating fun and laughter into our daily class routines and have a genuine love for caring for children and encouraging their milestones and growth. I understand that for most, Pre-K is the first experience your child will have in school and I will always be available to discuss the best practices for each child to feel comfortable during this transitional time.

For our preschoolers, it is imperative that they begin to learn the process and routines that come with beginning their academic career while maintaining age-appropriate expectations. Through our Pre-K program, we work on various studies using The Creative Curriculum and follow a social and emotional program called Second Step. We also include a curriculum called Conscious Discipline which discusses and emphasizes a brain-based learning strategy for social and emotional regulation to better teach the young learners best practices for mind and body control when faced with difficult tasks or situations. These help promote taking healthy steps towards understanding how school operates and coping with new or unexpected challenges.
