2025-2026 Out-of-District and Out-of-County Application Information
Families living in Onslow County follow this link to request an out-of-district assignment
Please be aware that you must register your child in the appropriate school as determined by your address prior to applying for out-of-district consideration.
Families living outside Onslow County or active duty families living aboard a military installation please utilize the 2025-2026 Out-of-County application found at the bottom of this page.
The following schools are projected to be at or above capacity for the 2025-2026 school year. New out-of-district transfer requests to these schools cannot be considered:
Elementary Schools at or above capacity:

- Carolina Forest Elementary School
- Coastal Elementary School
- Dixon Elementary School
- Hunters Creek Elementary School
- Morton Elementary School
- Queens Creek Elementary School
- Southwest Elementary School
- Swansboro Elementary School
Middle Schools at or above capacity:
- Hunters Creek Middle School
- Jacksonville Commons Middle School
- Southwest Middle School
- Swansboro Middle School
High Schools at or above capacity:
- Dixon High School
- Richlands High School
The following schools are magnet schools and not available through the out-of-district process:
- Clyde Erwin Elementary School
- Northwoods Elementary School
- New Bridge Middle School
- Onslow Virtual School
