OCS Announces 2022-2023 AP of the Year

Courtney Moffitt with Dr. Beth Folger and Dr. Barry Collins

On Tuesday, May 24, at the inaugural Excellence in Education event, Courtney Moffitt was named the 2022-2023 OCS Assistant Principal of the Year!

In her four years as an assistant principal, Moffitt has built a reputation at Richlands Elementary School as a dynamic leader who encourages the best from her staff and students. She is described by the teachers in her building as someone who leads by example and keeps the wellbeing of “the whole child” in mind each and every day.

Principal Laurie Strope said Moffitt was integral in helping RES transition to a new building in 2018 and has been a “tremendous asset in helping to build the current culture of their building to one of cooperation, collaboration, and consistency.”

Ms. Moffitt truly embodies what it means to be an effective leader, and we are proud to have her represent Onslow County Schools as Assistant Principal of the Year!
