OCS Spring Craft Fair 2024

Dr. Collins makes a purchase at the Spring Craft Fair

Thursday, May 2, was an exciting day for our School-Based Enterprise students, as Onslow County Schools Exceptional Children’s Services hosted its annual Spring Craft Fair.

Students and staff from across the county came together at Jacksonville High School to sell student-made products such as t-shirts, plants, jewelry, wooden signs, candles, and more to hundreds of members of the community.

Our school-based enterprise programs allow students to get hands-on experience with running a business. Students are involved in the process from start to finish, not only making the items they sell, but also working on advertising their products, facilitating transactions, and handling money.

Through participating in sales events like this, students get the opportunity to practice real-world skills while earning money to grow their programs.

More than 300 shoppers stopped by the JHS gym to browse products, buy gifts, and see our students in action. Thank you to all who came out to support our students and pick up some wonderful spring crafts!
