Steve Clarke is named Principal of the Year

Richlands High School Principal Steve Clarke has been named the OCS Wells Fargo Principal of the Year! 

Being a great principal requires dedication, charisma, compassion, and strong leadership. The 2024-2025 Principal of the Year, Steve Clarke, embodies these characteristics and more.  

In his nomination, Mr. Clarke was described by his staff as a “true servant leader” who has a strong sense of honesty, responsibility, and compassion. His colleagues say he is a person of “high moral character” who has transformed the culture and climate of Richlands High School with a dedication to empowering teachers to be leaders and an unparalleled commitment to student well-being.  

Mr. Clarke, described as inspiring and supportive, has a vision for his school that is centered around the belief that every student can achieve a successful life.  

Staff members at Richlands High say Mr. Clarke actively engages students and is often heard reminding them that “you can control two things: your attitude and your effort.” He also assures students that they are loved, saying, “if no one has told you they love you today, know that I do.”
