Science & Engineering Fair 2018
Science and Engineering Fair 2018 Winners
The Onslow County Schools 2018 Science and Engineering Fair was a great night of celebrating young scientists and students who are STEM thinkers. Students from 2ndgrade through middle school participated this year, and while the Fair was scaled back a bit due to Hurricane Florence over 30 projects showcasing interesting and diverse topics were on display. This year's competition included projects from 3 2nd graders from Heritage Elementary. The Fair was held in the multipurpose room at Blue Creek Elementary on December 11th, 2018.
The Science and Engineering Fair provides an opportunity for students to pursue personal areas of interest in science or technology where they create a research project and then display their findings in a public competitive forum. Projects are selected on a school level to compete at the county-level fair. This year 10 projects were selected to represent Onslow County Schools at the Regional Science Fair to be held at UNC-W in the coming year.
