Dr. Ron Singletary Steps In As Interim Superintendent

We are excited to welcome Dr. Ron Singletary back to Onslow County Schools as our interim superintendent.

Dr. Singletary, who served as the OCS superintendent from 1991 to 2006, has returned to the district to serve as interim superintendent following the retirement of former Superintendent Rick Stout. Dr. Singletary also served as interim following the retirement of former Superintendent Kathy Spencer in 2013.

"It is a distinct honor to have been asked to serve as your interim superintendent," he said. "During this period of transition, I am proud to be working alongside the district’s extremely dedicated and talented educators as we continue to focus on the system vision of Excellence in Education."

Dr. Singletary will lead the district while the Onslow County Board of Education continues its search for a new permanent superintendent.

The Board has begun reviewing applications for the superintendent opening and is currently preparing for initial interviews with candidates members are most interested in.
