Northside Senior Receives OCAEOP Scholarship

OCAEOP Awards Scholarship

The Onslow County Association of Educational Office Professionals is the local unit of the North Carolina Association of Educational Office Professionals and the National Association of Educational Office Professionals. OCAEOP held its 2019 Spring Banquet on April 9, where they presented their annual scholarship to an OCS student.

The association is dedicated to helping educational office professional achieve of professionalism and to the improvement of the quality of service provided for students, educators, and the community. They strive to elevate the standards of educational office professionals by the exchange and pooling of information, ideas and ideals. 

Each year, among other things, OCAEOP works to raise scholarship money to be awarded to an Onslow County Schools’ graduating high school senior, who has been accepted at a four-year college or university. the scholarship selection committee is made up of active OCAEOP member, and applications are reviewed and scored according to the guidelines set by NCAEOP. 

The 2019 OCAEOP Student Scholarship winner is Kaitlin Peck from Northside High School. She has been accepted to, and plans to attend, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. As the OCAEOP Scholarship winner, Kaitlin’s scholarship application will also be submitted to NCAEOP’s District 12, for the opportunity to receive one of the District scholarships.
