The first-ever TIMS Competition was held in Wilmington this summer, during the North Carolina Pupil Transportation Association Transposium.
TIMS, or Transportation Information Management System, is the program counties across the state use to safely and efficiently create and edit routes, boundaries, and county maps to manage school transportation operations. The event was sponsored by Edulog and included a Summer School Bus Routing Scenario for 153 Students.
Participants were asked to complete Summer Routes using the smallest number of buses (up to 6 were available), totaling the fewest daily miles and driver hours, while having the fastest student ride times without a child being picked up before 7a.m.
Out of over 200 TIMS operators in the state, only 13 competed. Onslow County Schools’ Amanda Millington received 4th place and Nadia Llaury placed in the top 13.
Congratulations to our amazing OCS Transportation staff!
