The NCDPI Exceptional Children Division will hold its 69th Conference on Exceptional Children in Greensboro November 20-22, 2019, where they will pay special tribute to educators of exceptional children.
The organization will present the 2019 Educator of Excellence Award to one teacher or educator from each of the state’s 115 traditional school systems. The selected educators will have special seating, attend a ceremony in their honor, and have their pictures displayed at the conference.
Jessie Campbell, a school psychologist for multiple schools in Onslow County, has been nominated by Superintendent Dr. Barry Collins and Executive Director of Exceptional Children Services Dr. Shannon White to represent OCS and receive the special recognition.
In their nomination letter, Dr. Collins and Dr. White said that Mrs. Campbell, who has worked for Onslow County Schools for more than 10 years, has always had students’ best interest at heart and works to mentor teachers, psychologists and other service providers to provide the best care possible for children.
“Mrs. Campbell collaborates with teachers, administrators, related service providers, students and parents to address areas of concern while providing them with compassion and understanding,” they said. “She maintains a positive attitude that is contagious and often reminds team members to think outside of the box.”
Congratulations to Mrs. Campbell and thank you for all you do for the children of Onslow County!
