2017 Butch Hardy Masonry Contest Results

For the thirty-sixth year, Adams, an Oldcastle company, has held it’s Annual Masonry Skills Contest for masonry students attending high schools in eastern North Carolina. Senior Nattaly Razo, Columbus Career and College Academy, pictured left with host Brett Hardy of Adams/Oldcastle, won the Women’s Division and had the best overall score for the day. She won the contest’s Women’s Division in 2014 (as a freshman with best overall score,) 2015 and 2016 and had a seventh place finish in the April 2017 Greensboro SkillsUSA NC State Masonry competition. Additional results: Noah Chanthongthip, first place men’s division, Swansboro High School; Kristian Still, second place overall, Pender High School; Justin Cortese, third place overall, Swansboro High School and who finished fifth place in the 2016 contest; Maria Torres, fourth place overall, Columbus Career & College Academy; and William Floyd, fifth place overall, Pender County High School and who also placed well in the 2016 contest. The competition is named The H. A. “Butch” Hardy Memorial Masonry Contest in memory of the contest founder. The event was held in Goldsboro. Photograph by Todd Walker
